Amersham & Chesham contract awarded

Following an extensive retendering process by Buckinghamshire County Council, we are very pleased to announce that Prime Care Support Ltd in association with Risborough Carers has been selected as the final of the four care providers that the council wishes to work with.

In this major new framework, in an effort to reduce the council has completely reorganised its approach to commissioning homecare services and reduced the number of providers that it uses for council funded care from over forty down to just four.  Prime Care Support have teamed up with Risborough Carers and have been successful in the Amersham and Chesham area.  In the next few months, the majority of existing work in this area will transfer over to us together with the carers if they choose to do so.  Then in future, all the council’s new care packages will be placed with us for the duration of the contract which is 3 years with an option to extend for another 2 years.

Clearly, with the award of a contract of this size, we will be opening new office premises at a suitable location within the Amersham and Chesham which will form the base for our new operations.  Maggie Maguire will be overseeing things as branch manager with support from Sue Hazeltine.

Between both Maggie and Sue, they have many years experience managing care services and are fully aware of the challenges that a contract such as this can pose.  We are mindful that there will be a degree of anxiety and apprehension from both service users and carers who are transferring over to us and we offer our reassurance that we will do our utmost to ensure that everyone will be well looked after.

We have just heard that we have been awarded preferred provider status for Bedford Borough Council following a lengthy accreditation process.  This contract will see our provision stretch to the North of the county.
